Partnering with D.O. it for Denny: Spreading Kindness Through Toys and Books This Season

 

We are proud to announce a special partnership this year with D.O. it for Denny, a local non-profit organization dedicated to helping children and families in need. Their mission to “D.O. Good” through monthly kindness projects aligns with our Center’s commitment to compassion, service, and community.

Together, we are excited to launch two meaningful giving opportunities this holiday season, a Toy Drive and a Book Donation Drive.

📚 Book Donation Drive: During Scholastic Book Fair Week

November 17 – 21, 2025

In addition to toys, we will also be collecting NEW books in support of D.O. it for Denny—but books will be collected only during the Scholastic Book Fair.

A clearly marked Book Donation Box will be located in the Book Fair area.
These books will support children and families served by D.O. it for Denny and will complement the overall kindness initiative taking place this month.

Don’t forget to check out teacher wishlists posted on classroom doors if you’d like to contribute to building our classroom libraries, too!

🎁 Toy Drive: November 3 – December 3, 2025

Our annual Christmas Toy Drive kicks off Monday, November 3 and runs through Wednesday, December 3.

Look for the “D.O. it for Denny” collection boxes in our Center’s lobby.
We invite families to donate NEW, unopened toys. These gifts will go directly to children in our local community.

This drive is an important tradition for our Center, and we are thrilled to join forces with D.O. it for Denny to expand the impact even further this year.

 

👦👧 Teaching Children How to Give

Our Young-5's & Kindergarten Readiness students play a special role in this project. They will help count and pack the donated toys and books before our teachers deliver them for distribution.

This hands-on experience provides a powerful opportunity for children to learn:

• the joy of giving

• the importance of helping others

• empathy and community responsibility

These lessons are at the heart of the season and reflect the values we aim to instill in all our classrooms.

D.O. it for Denny is a mission-driven organization focused on uplifting families in crisis, supporting children, and spreading kindness through community-centered giving. Their monthly kindness projects inspire people of all ages to get involved in acts of compassion that honor Denny’s legacy and bring hope to others.

We are thrilled to join this mission and deepen the impact of our holiday outreach.

✅ How You Can Participate

• Donate new, unopened toys anytime from Nov. 3 – Dec. 3

• Drop off new books in the designated Book Donation Box during Book Fair Week (Nov. 17–21). 

• Invite extended family—especially grandparents—to join in during Grandparents Day

• Talk with your child about why giving matters

• Watch for updates in the Group Me
